The examination for each Ph.D. is held by the academic sector in charge of each program. Thus the selection procedure, dates for examinations and type of exam depend explicitly on each Sector. Usually there are two selection exams per year: Spring and Autumn; but it is recommend to see each Sector's web page were they will have all the corresponding information ([http://www.sissa.it/main/?p=SECTOR see here]).

Please note that pre-enrollment at SISSA does not, in any way, guarantee an appointment with the diplomatic or consular representations to submit visa applications. It is also recalled that the admission of a candidate to a SISSA PhD programme does not confer any right to obtain a visa, given that issuing study visas is the exclusive responsibility of the Italian Embassies/Consulates.
