SISSA buildings

For the moment (this means it is going to change soon) SISSA has buildings in three locations. Starting in Spring 2010 SISSA sectors are going to be moved to Via Bonomea 265, near Opicina.

Currently (as of April 2010) SISSA sectors are located as follows:

Miramare

One is the main campus known as Physics Center in Miramare, which includes also ICTP buildings (SISSA students can use some of the ICTP provided services among those listed here). There are three SISSA buildings in this campus : Main Building, New Building and Bellavista Building. In the Main Building one can find Mathematical Physics, Elementary Particle Theory , Condensed Matter Theory,Astrophysics , Functional Analysis and Applications sectors and administrative offices (Students' Secretariat, and Sector secretariats etc.). Regarding facilities, SISSA's Library and Computer Help desk can also be found in the Main Building. In the New Building there are Condensed Matter Theory and Statistical and Biological Physics sectors. In Bellavista Building there are many offices of PhD students and the Tactile Perception and Learning Lab of the Cognitive Neuroscience Sector. Don't try to find offices of your friends at the locations I mentioned according to their sectors since they can be in any building. In order to locate someone's office check the phonebook.

Third location is Basovizza Science Park where Neurobiology Sector is located.

Via Bonomea

How to arrive

• By bus: bus lines (2, 4, 4/ and 38) arrive close to/to Santorio.
• Opicina's tram that leaves from Piazza Oberdan can also be an option to get close to the building.
• A shuttle service connects SISSA with ICTP; check here the timetables.

On Trieste Trasporti website you can find the updated schedules for all the bus routes. This utility allows you to check bus routes (linee) and to plan the journey (calcolo percorso).
