Back to the main SISSA web site.

Welcome!

Welcome to Students@SISSA! This wiki is a sort of on-line handbook to help foreigners (and Italians) settle in Trieste without (a lot of) effort and make their way through Italian bureaucracy. You'll find here a topic ordered list of the relevant pages that we suggest you read carefully before leaving your home country and a list of everything else you may be concerned about when you are already in Trieste.

SISSA RELOCATION

SISSA is going soon to move to a new building. Check frequently this page in order to get the relevant updated infos.

La SISSA verrà presto trasferita in una nuova sede. Le informazioni al riguardo saranno continuamente aggiornate su questa pagina .

Before Arriving

Interested in applying for a SISSA position? Already waiting to take an exam or to come here to start a PhD program? Here's a short summary of some useful information that you ought to know:

Once in Italy

If you are already in Trieste here's some sources of information that you might find helpful (at least as a starting point):

Students' secretariat

The Students' Secretariat deals with all the aspects regarding students before, during and after their stay at the School. It also providies a link between students and the other SISSA offices. Its purpose is to facilitate the students' well-being, and help in the beaurocratic process of enrollment, permit of stay, study certification, etc.
  • People: Riccardo Iancer and Federica Tuniz (See SISSA staff)
  • Location: Main Building, room 238. (See SISSA buildings)
  • E-mail:
  • Phone number: +39 040 3787 452 or 456
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday from 09.30 to 12.30 hrs / Monday - Thursday from 14.30 to 16.00

Please note that the Students' Secretariat will move to Santorio (room 222) on 3rd May. A few days before and a few days after we will be less efficient than usual days :-)

For more detailed information on the enrollment procedure, study certificates and PhD title procedure go to Students' Secretariat.

Disclaimer

In preparing this web site we have tried to verify more than once every statement and every procedure in order to provide a trustful source to our fellow students. However, since law in Italy varies very frequently, and since we know we are far from being perfect, we should warn you that all information contained in this web site comes as it is without any warranty that is actually correct.
